The Studio
If you have a blending kit, the Studio turns what you make with it into something you can read. Pick your materials, and it tells you what the result is: where it sits on the scent wheel, how it wears over six hours, and which perfumes it comes out closest to.
How it works
- 1. Start from a kit. Your kits are the ones you own or have been given by a school. The materials in each are already resolved into the notes they contain, which is what makes everything after this possible. The kits we have mapped are listed here.
- 2. Pick and weigh. Choose materials and set how much of each, or leave them even. Search reaches every note we hold, not just the ones in your kit, so you can record something you added from outside it.
- 3. Read what you made. The piece gets a scent wheel, a wear timeline modelled from the volatility of the notes each material maps to, and a list of perfumes whose mapped profile is closest to it. All three are model estimates from composition, not measurements of anything that was smelled. The resemblance list is a sanity check rather than a verdict: it asks whether you landed near what you meant.
- 4. Keep the versions. Changing a piece saves over it. Starting a new version keeps the old one, with a note of what you changed, so a lineage survives rather than the last edit winning.
What it is not
It is not a recipe generator and it will not tell you what to make. It reads what you made. The resemblance list compares mapped profiles, so it can tell you that a blend sits near a perfume you know; it cannot tell you whether the blend is any good, and neither can we. Nothing here establishes ingredients, allergens or safe dilution - for that, follow your kit provider's own instructions.
The proportions are ours to model, not to measure. Where a piece has no quantities we split it evenly and say so, because everything downstream is computed from that split and you should know when it was assumed rather than chosen.
Your pieces are yours
A piece is private to your account by default, and nothing you build enters the public catalogue. Sharing one creates a link, and anyone who has that link can see the full recipe, its drydown and what it resembles - so share it only with people you would give the formula to.
