Cochine

About Cochine

Cochine is a small luxury fragrance house founded by Kate Crofton-Atkins, who left a London beauty career for Saigon and set about bottling what she found there: hidden streets thick with jasmine and frangipani, a backdrop of French colonial architecture, and balmy tropical evenings. The name nods to Cochinchina, the French name for southern Vietnam. The house was built in reverse, starting with a home range of candles, reed diffusers and bath products in ten Vietnam inspired scents, still produced with the family-owned Vietnamese makers Kate started out with. The eau de parfum collection came later, launching in 2021, blended in France and running to five scents - Tuberose Absolute & Sandalwood, White Jasmine & Gardenia, Frangipani & Neroli, Tuberose & Wild Fig, and Vanille & Tabac Noir - each built around regional materials such as champa jasmine, water hyacinth and agarwood. The house has also collaborated with the perfumer Maurice Roucel. The signature is soft-focus tropical romance: generous white florals, warm spice and enough restraint to stop them turning heavy. Cochine Ltd is registered in Hong Kong, and UK stockists include The Fragrance Shop.
