Vegan & Cruelty-Free
Ethical Perfume Brands
Anyone can print "ethical" on a box, so we only use the word where there is something to check. Every house here makes a vegan or cruelty-free claim across its whole range, either backed by an independent register or stated on its own site, and we never blend the two. Natural, clean and non-toxic get no list, because nothing stands behind those words. The perfumes still get the same verdict as everything else on the site.
34 certified houses 962 vegan perfumes 3,972 cruelty-free perfumes
Certified houses
On an independent register as vegan, cruelty-free or both, across the whole range. Each brand page names the body and links to its listing, so you can check it yourself.

What the words mean
Vegan and cruelty-free have registers behind them, so they get a list. Natural, clean and non-toxic do not. No standards body defines them and no test confirms them, so we publish no list for them and explain the word instead.
- Vegan No animal-derived ingredients, so no musk, civet, beeswax or honey. Registers exist, so the claim can be checked.
- Cruelty-free No animal testing at any stage. The registers audit the claim rather than take a brand's word for it.
- Natural No legal definition in perfumery, and natural does not mean gentle. No register, so no list.
- Clean A retail marketing term no standards body defines. No register, so no list.
- Non-toxic A marketing word, not a regulatory one. No list and no safety claim, just what UK labelling requires.
