The entry tier, Semi-Bespoke, created by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin, runs from roughly £300 to £425: a private consultation where you choose from four exclusive fragrance bases and blend in a signature essence, with the finished bottle poured and taken away the same day. That's a real mix-to-order session, but it's built from existing bases rather than a unique formula composed around one client.

The tier that qualifies as genuine bespoke is Penhaligon's Bespoke, created in collaboration with Alberto Morillas, the Firmenich-affiliated master perfumer behind widely known compositions including CK One and Marc Jacobs Daisy. Reported pricing starts at £35,000. The process begins with an initial interview lasting one to three hours, followed roughly six weeks later by a first proposed formula; the client wears and lives with it, feeds back, and the fragrance is refined through further rounds until it's agreed, a process reported to take around eight months in total. The finished commission is delivered in two handmade, custom-designed 200ml decanters with a silver travel atomiser, with refills of the locked-away formula reported at around £2,500.
