The Fragrance Foundation UK Awards

London

Best for tracking who the UK fragrance trade itself rates each year - the industry's own awards, not a retailer or consumer popularity contest

The UK affiliate of The Fragrance Foundation (the parent body founded in New York in 1949 by Chanel, Coty, Elizabeth Arden, Guerlain and Helena Rubinstein) was established in the UK in 1992, and its annual awards ceremony has run since - widely described in UK trade and beauty press as "the Oscars of the fragrance industry." The 2026 ceremony was held on 11 June at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London, gathering more than 700 industry professionals. That edition marked the retirement of long-serving CEO Linda Key after 17 years building the organisation, and introduced a new "Icon of the Year" category, first awarded to Thibault Crivelli, founder of Maison Crivelli.

Categories span mainstream and prestige/niche launches judged separately, alongside marketing, retail and talent awards. Judging combines industry panels with a public "Voting Public - Consumers' Choice" strand for select categories, so it isn't purely a closed-door trade vote, though the ceremony itself is an industry gala rather than a public event - there's no general ticket sale, and coverage runs primarily through trade and beauty press rather than broadcast media.

For a UK fragrance reader, this is the single most useful annual signal of what the UK trade itself considers the year's standout launches and people, distinct from marketing spend or influencer reach. As of July 2026 the 2027 ceremony date hadn't been announced - past ceremonies have landed in May or June, so expect an announcement nearer the time.
