About

Akiko Kamei, originally from Japan, interned at Roure in Grasse in the early 1970s and trained at Givaudan Perfumery School alongside Pierre Bourdon, Édouard Fléchier, Michel Almairac, Jimmy Bell, and Françoise Caron. She worked in Grasse for 10 years before joining Jean Amic's creative team in Paris. Associated with Givaudan, her creations include Parfum d'Hermès (1984, co-created with Raymond Chaillon), Rouge Hermès (2000, rework of Parfum d'Hermès), Caron Le Troisième Homme (1985), Diptyque Oyedo (2000), and L'Artisan Parfumeur Mûre et Musc (2003).
