Alexander Verier

Alexander Verier is a perfumer and formulator from Kent, England, and the founder of Foras, a fragrance and skincare shop and lab in Folkestone. He is the only perfumer behind the Foras range.

He says he has made perfumes, skincare and home fragrance for just over ten years, and the brand describes a career of more than 15 years in the industry. In that time he has worked on hundreds of formulations, as well as sourcing packaging and managing production and distribution for private clients. Past fragrance clients include Oliver Spencer, Grenson Shoes, Dom Perignon and Fortnum and Mason. No perfumery school or mentor is named for him, so none is claimed.

Foras is where his own work lives. The fragrances are formulated in a small production lab and studio at the shop on Church Street, and he works from a collection of more than 200 oils, looking through it and trying blends and combinations. He wants the brand to be experienced in person, with the website there for people further away. He names Fig Ozone and Bitter Citrus as his favourites and often layers several fragrances at once.

Outside Foras, his core business is helping other companies formulate, design, source and produce products. He is also co-founder of Pelegrims, a Kent skincare company that uses a natural extract made from English grapes.

The Foras range is inspired by the outdoors and includes Elemental Musk, Fig Ozone, Bitter Citrus, Ocean Tansy, Summer Vine and Mushroom Forest. The fragrances are layered, built to adapt to the wearer's skin and to change over time.
