Massenet's style is defined by bold juxtapositions, striking contrasts, and a passion for new olfactory territories, often blending tradition with innovative ingredients and technology.
Aliénor Massenet is a renowned French perfumer celebrated for her innovative and expressive creations. Beginning her career in 1995 as a junior perfumer in New York, she quickly established herself as a creative force in the industry. Massenet has worked with leading fragrance companies such as IFF and, since 2016, has held the role of VP Senior Perfumer at Symrise. Despite not having a formal background in chemistry, she is known for her fascination with molecules, captives, and new technologies, often pushing the boundaries of traditional perfumery. Her compositions are characterized by contrast and unexpected olfactory alliances, reflecting both her respect for heritage and her liberated, modern approach. Beyond her commercial work, Massenet is dedicated to giving back, running olfactory workshops for people recovering from life incidents. She has received multiple awards, including the Fragrance Foundation UK's Best New Independent Fragrance for Marfa Spices by Memo and the Experts’ Award in France for Copper by Comme des Garçons.
