Amandine Clerc-Marie is a celebrated French perfumer born in Grasse, the historic epicenter of the French perfume industry. Raised in a family with a strong connection to the world of fragrance-her mother also worked in the industry-Clerc-Marie developed a passion for perfumery early in life. She honed her craft at ISIPCA, the prestigious perfumery school in Versailles, where she studied the art of fragrance creation and deepened her knowledge of raw materials. Clerc-Marie began her career under the mentorship of Michel Almairac, working with him for over a decade, before joining Firmenich (now dsm-firmenich) in 2011, where she is currently a senior perfumer. Known for her elegant yet modern creations, Clerc-Marie has crafted fragrances for luxury brands including Chloé, Lancôme, Mugler, Valentino, and Burberry. Her portfolio spans over a hundred fragrances, many of which have become bestsellers and modern classics, such as Chloé Eau de Parfum and La Nuit Trésor. She is recognized for her visual approach to creation, often drawing inspiration from movement, colors, and shapes. Despite her success, she remains modest and prioritizes the creative process over self-promotion.
