Anne-Sophie Behaghel

France Born 0 Les Liquides Imaginaires

Often works for niche houses with narrative, sometimes mystical concepts, as seen in her collaborations with Liquides Imaginaires. Known for refined gourmand interpretations, such as her less-sweet gourmand work for Les Senteurs Gourmandes, and for modernizing classic French structures at Jardin de France. Her compositions frequently feature nuanced, textural uses of naturals rather than overtly sugary or loud accords.

About

Anne-Sophie Behaghel is a French perfumer and co-founder of the independent Parisian perfume lab Flair (also written FLAIR), established with fellow perfumer Amélie Bourgeois in 2012. She first trained in perfumery at Cinquième Sens in Paris under Monique Schlienger, and later studied at ISIPCA in Versailles. Before launching Flair she worked at major fragrance houses Symrise and Firmenich, including roles in personal care evaluation and fine fragrance account management. Behaghel creates fragrances for numerous niche brands; her work includes interpreting the gourmand family for Les Senteurs Gourmandes and adding modern touches to classic French codes for Jardin de France. She is also one of the perfumers behind Versatile Paris, for which she composed Culot Thé, and she created MATCH for the niche brand Der Duft, launched in 2021.
