About

Aurélien Guichard is a renowned French perfumer who has become a major figure in contemporary fragrance creation. Born and raised in Grasse, the historic heart of perfumery, Guichard was immersed in the world of scent from an early age, coming from a family of rose and jasmine growers and a lineage of perfumers spanning seven generations. He honed his craft at the prestigious Givaudan Perfumery School, marking the beginning of a distinguished career. Guichard spent 14 years at Givaudan, creating standout fragrances such as Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Anisia Bella, Versace Eros, and Narciso by Narciso Rodriguez. In 2014, he joined Firmenich, where he continued to expand his repertoire with creations for brands like Giorgio Armani and Michael Kors. In addition to his work with international fragrance houses, Guichard is deeply connected to his roots in Grasse, managing an organic farm dedicated to cultivating Rosa centifolia and tuberose for perfumery. In 2019, after joining Takasago, he launched his own critically acclaimed niche brand, Matière Première, which quickly gained a reputation for its transparent, ingredient-driven scents. Guichard’s creative journey reflects both an enduring respect for family tradition and a modern vision for perfumery.
