Navitus Parfums
Warm, deep and sensual compositions built for movement and contrast - she leans on enveloping balsamic and woody-leather materials such as fir balsam absolute, moss and leather, and ranges easily from rich gourmand-orientals to fresher woody blends, almost always genderless.
Bérengère Bourgarel is a French perfumer based near Marseille, where she has worked as an in-house perfumer at the composition house TechnicoFlor since 2020. Raised in the south of France amid pine, mimosa and aromatic herbs, she trained first in chemistry before turning to perfumery, and spent formative years living in Germany and Dubai - the latter giving her a fluency in Middle Eastern fragrance culture that runs through much of her later work. From TechnicoFlor she composes for a roster of indie and niche houses, most prominently Vivamor Parfums and its sister brand Navitus Parfums, where several of her best-known scents are co-creations with Bertrand Duchaufour. She describes her aim as bringing movement, depth and warmth to a composition, and favours sensual, enveloping materials - fir balsam absolute, citrus, moss and leather - across a body of work that spans warm gourmands, soft orientals and woody-balsamic blends, almost all of it conceived as unisex.
