Brook Harvey-Taylor is the founder and chief creative officer of Pacifica Beauty, the vegan and cruelty-free brand she started with her husband Billy Taylor in 1996 while living in Portland, Oregon, later relocating to Santa Barbara County, California (Pacifica / Beauty Independent / Yahoo Life). Trained via an apprenticeship in aromatherapy, she began by blending essential oils as perfumes; seven of those blends became Pacifica’s first scents, initially sold after a trade show in San Francisco (Makeup.com / Yahoo Life). As founder and “Chief Scentologist”, she continues to develop Pacifica’s fragrance collections, including the Aromapower functional fragrance line that combines classical perfumery with aromatherapy and neuroscience-backed ingredients (Pacifica / YouTube).
