About
Carina Chaz is a Los Angeles-based, self-taught perfumer and founder/CEO of the fragrance brand DedCool. Multiple interviews note that she created her first fragrance at age 13, formulating an early scent modeled on Chanel No. 5 and later developing Taunt, which remains one of DedCool’s bestsellers. She launched DedCool in 2016 at around 21 as a unisex, vegan, non-toxic fragrance line that emphasizes clean formulations, layering, and genderless positioning. Under her direction, DedCool has expanded beyond traditional perfume into products like laundry detergent, hand and body wash, air fresheners and “poop drops,” and is now sold at major retailers including Sephora and has achieved carbon-neutral certification across manufacturing and sourcing.
