About
Carmita Magalhães is a senior perfumer at Firmenich (now dsm-firmenich), working in the fine fragrance division. She was born in France to Portuguese parents and has lived in Brazil since 1999, a background she summarizes as “Brazilianised French-Portuguese.” According to dsm-firmenich’s own profile and Fragrantica, she joined Firmenich after five years of formal perfumery training and is based in Brazil, where the company has had a presence for decades. In 2024 she appeared as one of the in-house perfumers present at the opening of dsm-firmenich’s Po ONE Lab in Riyadh, a creative partnership space with Villa Po ONE, highlighting her active role in the company’s international fine fragrance projects. Her work is often described as focusing on freshness, comfort and sensuality, inspired by Brazilian nature and her early fascination with forest aromas.
