Barel is known for her emotional, decadent, and sensual compositions, often featuring rich white florals and bold accords that create an evocative and memorable olfactory experience.
Céline Barel is a French perfumer renowned for her evocative and emotionally resonant creations. Born and raised in Grasse, the historic heart of French perfumery, she developed an early fascination with fragrances, collecting perfume bottles and interning at prestigious brands such as Chanel, Dior, and Vuitton. Although she had no family ties to the fragrance world, her passion drove her to pursue formal olfactive training, eventually joining International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) in Milan. After rigorous study and passing an internal competition, Barel entered IFF's esteemed perfumery school, training across creative centers in the Netherlands, New York, Paris, and Grasse. Over a career spanning more than 17 years, Céline has collaborated with major brands and celebrities, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Avon, Clean, Lancôme, Loewe, Coach, Aesop, Jessica Simpson, David Beckham, and Shawn Mendes. Her portfolio encompasses a range of styles, but she is especially passionate about decadent, opulent, and sensual fragrances, with a particular fondness for bold white florals. Céline Barel's work is celebrated for its ability to forge deep connections with consumers through scent, earning her a distinguished place among contemporary perfumers.
