Christian Rostain is a French perfumer born in 1953 in Fréjus, in the south of France. He began his career in 1974 as a perfumer’s apprentice at Robertet in Grasse, receiving six years of internal training under senior perfumer Louis Truc, followed by further initiation with perfumer Henri Romano. In 1980 he became a junior perfumer under Georges Pellegrin and contributed to Robertet’s development in South and Central America and the USA. Rostain has created perfumes such as Carrera for Carrera, Heros for Didier Calvo Uomo, and the Harry Potter fragrance, and has developed scents for groups including L’Oréal, Henkel and Clarins.
