Daniela Andrier is a renowned German perfumer celebrated for her refined and intellectual approach to modern fragrance creation. Born in Heidelberg in 1964, she originally studied philosophy at the Sorbonne in Paris before pivoting to perfumery. Andrier began her professional journey with an internship at Chanel, where Jacques Polge recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career as a perfumer. She trained at the prestigious Roure school in Grasse, which later became part of Givaudan, and has remained closely associated with Givaudan throughout her career. Andrier is acclaimed for her extensive and diverse portfolio, having crafted fragrances for leading houses such as Prada, Bottega Veneta, Bvlgari, Gucci, Guerlain, Maison Martin Margiela, Miu Miu, Tiffany, and Yves Saint Laurent. Her work with Prada is particularly notable, where she has designed over 50 exclusive fragrances and helped define the brand's olfactory identity with bestsellers like Prada Candy and Infusion d'Iris. Andrier's compositions are admired for their elegance, subtlety, and focus on high-quality, natural ingredients. She is married to Gilles Andrier, CEO of Givaudan.
