Darren Alan is an independent perfumer based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He trained in classical perfumery through correspondence courses, classes, workshops, and guidance from mentors, and has worked in fragrance development for the personal-care industry and bespoke perfume creation for private clients. He founded Pure Skin Formulations in 2005 and later launched Darren Alan Perfumes. His stated style combines neo-vintage fragrances with compositions inspired by nature, including After The Rain and Hekate. He also specializes in recreating vintage and historic perfumes using natural materials, artisanal distillations, tinctures, absolutes, and seasonal effleurage.
