Pellegrin’s signature style is defined by his mastery of natural ingredients, especially woody and spicy notes, and a deep-rooted respect for Grasse’s perfumery traditions. His work is known for its authenticity, creative use of naturals, and a modern interpretation of classic French perfumery.
Fabrice Pellegrin is a renowned French perfumer born and raised in Grasse, the historic heart of the perfume industry. Coming from a lineage deeply embedded in the world of fragrance-his father a perfumer, his grandmother a jasmine picker, and his grandfather a supplier of natural raw materials-Pellegrin’s destiny was shaped by the scents and traditions of his native region. Starting his career at Robertet and Mane, he later joined Firmenich (now dsm-firmenich) in 2008, where he continued to develop his expertise, especially with natural ingredients. Over a career spanning more than 15 years, he has created fragrances for prestigious houses such as Diptyque, Jean Paul Gaultier, Amouage, Jo Malone, L’Occitane, Hermès, Armani Privé, and many others, including niche and luxury brands. Pellegrin is celebrated not only for his creative vision but also for his technical mastery, particularly in the use of woody and spicy notes. He is a passionate advocate for the transmission of knowledge, generously mentoring younger perfumers and encouraging open exchange of ideas. In 2017, his contributions were recognized when he was named "Perfumer of the Year" by Cosmétique Mag. Despite his success, Pellegrin remains grounded, drawing inspiration from the landscape and community of Grasse while dividing his time between Paris and Grasse’s research laboratories.
