Olfactory direction at Givenchy - guardian of the house olfactory heritage; modern French designer fragrances
Françoise Donche is a French fragrance professional who in 1987 joined Parfums Givenchy as head of Olfactory Creation, where for over two decades she stewarded the house's heritage and directed/oversaw the creation of its modern fragrances, collaborating with perfumers such as Francis Kurkdjian, Jean-Jacques and Francois Demachy. Importantly, she was an olfactory director / evaluator rather than the bench perfumer ('nose') for most of these scents - Fragrantica credits her directly with only one composition, Givenchy Pi Neo (2008). The wider list of Givenchy fragrances associated with her name (Amarige, Organza, Ysatis, Ange ou Demon, Very Irresistible, Pi, Gentlemen Only) reflects her directorial role at the house, not solo-nose authorship.
