Gerard Bertrand is a perfumer credited with fragrances for Phaedon Paris and La Bonte Paris. Phaedon's own launch text for Ilanguara, released in 2017, says the perfumer Gerard Bertrand tamed the sensual character of ylang-ylang by wrapping it in Guara almond from Alicante, balsams, cedar, guaiac and vetiver. Parfumo lists six perfumes by him: Ilanguara and the La Bonte line Essor, Heros, Obsidian, Rubis and Trone. No source found links him to the Languedoc wine producer of the same name, so he should not be treated as the same person, and no biographical details such as birth place or training were found.
