Farmachidi is noted for a strong grounding in natural raw materials. She often builds formulas where naturals account for around 30% of her output, selecting about 300 key ingredients from a much larger palette to construct her compositions. Her work spans both conventional and fully natural perfumes for niche and independent brands.
Irène Farmachidi is a French master perfumer who graduated from the ISIPCA postgraduate perfumery school in Versailles. Early in her career she worked closely with natural raw materials and daily fresh distillations, which led her to specialize in composing natural perfumes. According to her own practice, around 30% of the fragrances she develops are fully natural compositions. Out of roughly 1,000 raw materials available in her palette, she regularly relies on about 300 to build a typical conventional fragrance formula. She has authored numerous perfumes for various brands, including work for Allegro Parfum, Ynepsie, Lucertolablu, Lettere di Profumo, MDCI Parfums and others.
