Jean Carles (1892-1966) was a French perfumer born in Grasse. He worked at Roure Bertrand Fils et Justin Duppont in Grasse, founded the Roure Perfumery School in 1946, and served as its first director. He also created the Jean Carles Method, a structured approach to perfume training still referenced in perfumery education, and is credited with fragrances including Miss Dior and Ma Griffe.
