Joseph DeLapp is the founder of The Rising Phoenix Perfumery and is also known as JK DeLapp. The house began developing products in 2011 and launched products publicly from 2014. DeLapp created Dodo for Zoologist Perfumes, released in 2019, and is also identified as the perfumer behind numerous Rising Phoenix compositions. He has described his work as specializing in artisan attars, particularly sandalwood, oud and incense, and is based in Atlanta, where he maintains a private practice.
