About
Juan M. Pérez is an artisan perfumer from Puerto Rico, born in 1976 in the mountain town of Lares in the island’s central‑western area (Renier Perfumes). After many years of self‑learning and practice, he became an artisan perfumer while working full‑time in a local fragrant bath and body products business he has run for about 15 years (Scent Trunk). In 2012 he launched his own line, The Exotic Island Perfumer, and later co‑founded Terra Mater Perfumes, where he is listed as perfumer (Instagram profile @exotic_island_perfumer). Pérez has also created perfumes for niche houses including EnVoyage Perfumes, Zoologist and Renier Perfumes (Scent Trunk).
