About

Laurent Le Guernec is a Paris-born senior perfumer whose career bridges the traditions of classic French perfumery and the vibrant, contemporary spirit of American fragrance. Raised near Paris and spending part of his youth in Grasse, the cradle of perfumery, Le Guernec was immersed in the world of scent from an early age. Inspired by his artistic family and a deep appreciation for aesthetics, he pursued chemistry at the University of Paris before enrolling at the renowned ISIPCA in Versailles. During his studies, he gained hands-on experience at Laboratoire Monique Remy in Grasse, mastering natural raw materials and developing a particular affinity for floral notes. His professional journey led him to the United States in 1991 to join Fragrance Resources, working alongside luminaries such as Pierre Bourdon and learning from mentors like Jean Claude Ellena. Le Guernec’s career includes a successful tenure at Mane, where he created the FIFI award-winning Michael by Michael Kors and iconic fragrances for Bond No. 9. Currently a senior perfumer at IFF, he has crafted fragrances for an array of global brands, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Katy Perry, Calvin Klein, Estée Lauder, and Dolce&Gabbana. Renowned for his artistic sensibility and technical mastery, Le Guernec is celebrated as a master of floral notes, creating perfumes that are both precise and evocative, resonating with audiences worldwide.
