About
Manuel Cross is the founder and in‑house perfumer of the independent brand Rogue Perfumery, which he launched around 2017, initially selling through Etsy before growing wider distribution. Based in Idaho Falls, he and his wife handle Rogue’s production, bottling, labeling and fulfillment themselves. Cross worked as a chef from 1993 and began self‑teaching perfumery in 2007, spending roughly a decade studying classic perfumery books, online resources and aroma chemicals before creating a viable fragrance that became the prototype for Tabac Vert. He positions Rogue as a response to heavy IFRA and EU restrictions on classic formulas and focuses on reinterpreting traditional genres such as chypres, fougères and tobacco accords, with popular releases including Bon Monsieur and Mousse Illuminee.
