Marc vom Ende

Germany Born 0 Yardley London

From interviews and his early success with a 1990s grapefruit shampoo, vom Ende is closely associated with citrus notes, particularly grapefruit, often used in fresh, accessible compositions. In media pieces he discusses working with bergamot and violet and how such natural facets can translate into modern urban fragrances, reflecting a focus on clear, naturalistic top notes structured for everyday wear.

About

Marc vom Ende is a German perfumer and Senior Perfumer at Symrise, where he works in Holzminden (Symrise profile; Essenza Nobile interview). He studied chemistry and was offered perfumer training after achieving an outstanding result in an olfactory test (SWR1 Leute; ARD Mediathek). In interviews he credits an early breakthrough to a grapefruit accord he created in the early 1990s for a very popular shampoo, at a time when grapefruit was still unusual in mainstream products (SWR1; Tagesspiegel). Beyond his work at Symrise he has also founded his own perfumery school in Germany to train aspiring perfumers (SWR1; ARD Mediathek).
