1001 Nights
Eau de Parfum
Ajmal
Pioneering East-meets-West fusion: traditional Arabian oud, rose, smoke and oriental amber constructions reframed for international EDP-spray formats. Notable for elevating oud-led compositions like 1001 Nights into mainstream Khaleeji-luxury status and bridging attar-perfumery heritage with modern Western perfume craft.
Nazir Ajmal was the chief perfumer of Ajmal Perfumes, the Dubai-founded Arabian fragrance house, and one of the most influential noses in modern Khaleeji perfumery. A member of the Ajmal family, he moved to Dubai in 1986 to work in sales for the family business and was appointed chief perfumer in 1996. After exposure to master perfumers in France and Switzerland, he pioneered a true fusion of Eastern and Western perfumery - blending traditional Arabian oud, attars and oriental compositions with Western EDP-style construction. He created early fusion fragrances including Sarah, which set a trend later widely followed in the region, and the iconic Alf Lail o Lail (1001 Nights), Ajmal's enduring oriental signature. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in the mid-2000s while continuing to author the house's signature creations. His daughter Maryam Nazir Ajmal has followed in his footsteps within the family business.
