Adyan by Anfar
Lighter floral and gourmand constructions for Adyan's contemporary sub-brand
Obaidullah Anfar is a member of the Anfar perfume family and serves as Director of Business Development at Oudh Al Anfar Perfumes in Dubai, the Arabian fragrance house founded in Assam, India in 1950 by Haji Anfar Ali and run today under the chairmanship of Mostaque (Mushtaque) Anfar Ali. He is one of two in-house noses behind Adyan by Anfar, the family's contemporary sub-brand launched in 2019, working alongside fellow family perfumer Ahmedullah Anfar on a catalogue that has grown to more than seventy creations. His credited work on the Adyan line includes Midnight Bloom (2023) and Roje Premium (2021), as well as Blood Lily (2024). The compositions reflect Adyan's modern remit, lighter, more floral and gourmand than the heavier Arabian oud-and-amber tradition the parent house is known for, with Midnight Bloom opening on gardenia and resolving into vanilla and amber, and Blood Lily layering vibrant florals over warmer base accords. Public information on Obaidullah is thinner than on his more senior cousins; his LinkedIn profile is the primary source for his Dubai base and current role, and his perfumery output to date is concentrated entirely in the Adyan by Anfar catalogue rather than across the wider Anfar London line.
