About

Olivier Cresp is a legendary French perfumer, celebrated as one of the most influential figures in contemporary fragrance. Born in Grasse in 1955 to a family deeply rooted in the world of scent, Cresp was immersed in perfumery from an early age-his great-grandfather grew roses and jasmine, his grandfather traded natural ingredients, and his father guided him through the fields of flowers that would shape his olfactive memory. His career began in earnest at Firmenich in 1992, where he swiftly gained recognition for his innovative approach and exceptional talent. Cresp’s portfolio boasts hundreds of compositions, including several that have become icons of modern perfumery, such as Mugler Angel, Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue, Nina Ricci Nina, and Dior Midnight Poison. Throughout his career, he has been honored with numerous accolades including the title of Maître Parfumeur, Perfumer of the Year, Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Fragrance Foundation. Beyond his commercial and artistic success, Cresp is known as a mentor to aspiring perfumers and an advocate for the art of fragrance. In 2018, he founded Akro, a family-run brand, further expanding his creative reach and entrepreneurial spirit. Cresp is admired for his timeless, carefully crafted creations, his devotion to unique and powerful concepts, and his enduring impact on the world of fragrance.
