Olivier Gillotin is a highly respected French perfumer, celebrated for his influential career spanning both sides of the Atlantic. Raised in Brittany, France, Gillotin developed an early appreciation for scent, inspired by the natural beauty surrounding him and a family connection to the legendary Chanel through his cousin. Initially studying biology in Paris, he soon redirected his path toward perfumery, training at the prestigious Givaudan Perfumery School. Gillotin began his professional journey at Givaudan, where he served for over two decades and attained the position of Vice President of Fragrance USA. His work is distinguished by a deep understanding of classic perfume structures, which he skillfully reinvents by integrating innovative ideas and modern sensibilities. Gillotin's creative legacy includes crafting iconic fragrances for major brands such as Tom Ford, Dior, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Elizabeth Arden, and Lancôme, as well as high-profile celebrity scents for artists like Beyoncé, Britney Spears, and Taylor Swift. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Gillotin received the American Society of Perfumery's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. As of 2025, he holds the role of Master Perfumer at Moellhausen S.p.A., continuing to shape the industry with his balanced approach, blending tradition with contemporary innovation.
