About

Olivier Polge, born in Grasse in 1971, is a prolific French perfumer and the son of legendary Chanel nose Jacques Polge. Initially aspiring to be a classical pianist, Olivier shifted his focus to art history before following the family tradition in fragrance. His journey began with training at Charabot and AC&M Parfums, and he launched his professional career as a trainee at International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) in 1998. There, he developed a reputation for innovation, co-creating major successes such as Dior Homme and Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb. Olivier Polge's work has garnered widespread acclaim, earning him the prestigious Prix International du Parfum in 2009. In 2013, he was tapped by Chanel to join the house, succeeding his father as head perfumer in 2015. Polge has since reimagined Chanel classics and introduced new icons like Chanel No. 5 L’Eau, Gabrielle, and Bleu de Chanel Parfum. His portfolio includes creations for brands like Lancôme, Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Jimmy Choo, and many more, making him one of the most influential contemporary noses in perfumery. Olivier Polge’s tenure at Chanel marks a harmonious blend of honoring tradition while introducing modern innovations, ensuring the house’s olfactory legacy continues to captivate new generations.
