Paolo Terenzi is an Italian perfumer and fragrance entrepreneur best known as the creative force behind the niche house Tiziana Terenzi, which he runs with his sister Tiziana and formally launched as a perfume brand in 2012. Born into a family candle business founded by his grandfather Guglielmo and developed by his father Evelino, who introduced scented candles in 1968, he grew up surrounded by waxes and essences. Terenzi returned to the family craft at 25, learning perfumery under his grandfather’s guidance. He has composed numerous fragrances for Tiziana Terenzi, including Kirke, Laudano Nero and Cassiopea, and has also created perfumed candles and scents for fashion and design houses such as Ferragamo, Acqua di Parma, Poltrona Frau, Bally, Baxter and Versace. Trained academically in law and philosophy and active as a jazz guitarist, he often cites his musical background and extensive travels as key sources of inspiration for his olfactory work.
