Pissara Umavijani

Thailand Born 0 Parfums Dusita

Self-taught perfumer blending classic French perfumery structures with Thai/Siamese influences. Frequently references her father’s poetry, aiming for “happiness” and paradisiacal themes (Dusita means “paradise” in Thai). Known for complex, often vintage-tinged compositions such as La Douceur de Siam, Mélodie de l’Amour, Issara and Splendiris, which mix rich florals, orientally inflected resins and woods with a refined, European-style balance.

About

Pissara “Ploi” Umavijani is a Thai perfumer and founder of the Paris-based niche house Parfums Dusita, where she has been in-house perfumer since establishing the brand (launched in Paris in 2016). Born and raised in Thailand, she moved to Paris initially as a student and developed her perfumes independently rather than through a formal perfumery school. Her work pays tribute to her father, Thai poet Montri Umavijani, with each Dusita fragrance conceived as an olfactory homage to his poetry. Self-taught and working from her own laboratory, she created fragrances such as La Douceur de Siam, Mélodie de l’Amour, Issara, Splendiris, Le Sillage Blanc, Erawan and Fleur de Lalita. She has also received a Golden Pear at the Art and Olfaction Awards for her work for Parfums Dusita.
