Rosendo Mateu is a Spanish Master Perfumer celebrated for his remarkable creativity and technical prowess in the world of fragrance. He began his journey in perfumery at just 15 years old, joining Puig in Barcelona as an apprentice. Driven by a deep passion for scent creation, Mateu honed his expertise at the acclaimed Roure School (now Givaudan) in Grasse under Master Marcel Carles, and furthered his studies with industry leaders like Arturo Jordi Pey at Firmenich and Max Gavary at I.F.F. Over decades, Mateu contributed his talents to international brands including Carolina Herrera, Paco Rabanne, Antonio Banderas, and Zara, shaping iconic scents that have achieved global popularity. In 2010, he was named Master Perfumer in recognition of his dedication and achievements. By 2015, he launched his own brand, Rosendo Mateu Olfactive Expressions, alongside his son Joan, offering a collection of sophisticated, unisex fragrances that have garnered critical and commercial success. Mateu's multifaceted career also includes ventures beyond perfumery, such as developing scents for gin and special events, further cementing his reputation as a versatile and innovative figure in the fragrance industry.
