Shyamala Maisondieu is an internationally acclaimed perfumer whose multicultural upbringing in Malaysia, within a family of Malay and Indian heritage, has profoundly shaped her approach to fragrance creation. Her journey into perfumery began after moving to London for her education and subsequently discovering her passion for scent while residing in Hong Kong. Recognizing her talent, she pursued formal training at the prestigious Givaudan Perfumery School in Grasse and Argenteuil, where she also met her husband, fellow perfumer Antoine Maisondieu. Upon joining Givaudan, Shyamala quickly made her mark by collaborating with a wide array of high-profile brands including Lancôme, Tom Ford, Lanvin, and Etat Libre d'Orange. Her innovative and skilled hand is evident in creations such as Lancôme's Idôle, Tom Ford Velvet Orchid, and the iconic Aquolina Pink Sugar, among many others. Throughout her career, Shyamala has drawn upon her unique global perspective to create a diverse portfolio of fragrances that celebrate both individuality and universality.
