Germany Born 0

Frequently combines a vintage perfumery feel with modern aromachemicals, often using rich woods, pronounced animalic accords and materials like licorice and vetiver. Several of his best-known works, such as Powder & Dust/Cockatiel and Hyrax, explore powdery facets alongside bold animalic and resinous notes (hyraceum, elemi), while Pink Patchouli showcases patchouli contrasted with airy materials like Hedione and white musks.

About

Sven Pritzkoleit is a German pharmacist-turned-autodidact perfumer and founder of the indie house SP Parfums. After completing his pharmacy studies in 1995 and running his family pharmacy for about 18 years, he closed it in 2012 and officially founded SP Parfums in 2016, launching the Essential Collection of ten fresh and woody fragrances. His first full perfume composition, Pink Patchouli, was created in 2006 and marked the beginning of his post-pharmacist career. Pritzkoleit won the 2019 Art & Olfaction Award (Artisan category) for Powder & Dust, co-created with Yana Lysenko, a scent that was later reworked as Zoologist Cockatiel. He also composed Zoologist Hyrax, built around hyraceum and elemi, and has collaborated on a Portuguese-themed quartet with Miguel Matos: Suntanglam, Funfair, Lisbon Blues and Nowhere Fast.
