Sylvie Jourdet
Known for working with niche brands, Sylvie Jourdet often builds characterful compositions suited to strong narrative concepts, as seen in her work for Histoires de Parfums and other storytelling-driven houses. Her independent lab setup allows close technical and creative tailoring of formulas for small brands and for non-traditional olfactory projects such as ambient scents for major corporations and events.
About
Sylvie Jourdet is a French perfumer and founder of the independent perfume laboratory Créassence, established in 2000. She initially studied pharmacy before moving into cosmetic formulation and then training in perfumery at ISIPCA, where she decided to focus on fragrance creation. After gaining experience in a large laboratory, she opened her own lab to support young and niche brands. She has created fragrances for houses such as Histoires de Parfums, Olibanum, The Burren Perfumery, Razza Fragrances, Dear Diary and Maître Parfumeur et Gantier, and has also worked on olfaction projects for major companies including BNP, Orange and the Tour de France. Jourdet served as President of the Société Française des Parfumeurs from 2005 to 2009 and again from 2013 to 2017 and is now its Honorary President. In 2011 she was appointed Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur. She teaches at ISIPCA and the University of Montpellier and is a founding member and treasurer of the International Society of Perfume-Creators.
