Schaller’s style reflects his training in chemistry and engineering, with an emphasis on technically refined, long-lasting and regulatory-compliant formulas. His work ranges from the ambered warmth of Oriflame Amber Elixir to the rich oud focus of Le Labo Oud 27 and the floral-oriental character of Grès Cabotine Gold. With HOC’s 11:00 AM and 9:00 PM he explores narrative, time-of-day concepts, often translating personal place-based inspirations, such as his experiences of London, into structured, story-driven compositions.
Vincent Schaller is a French perfumer with a scientific background, holding a Master’s degree in chemical engineering and a PhD in chemistry from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. He began his professional perfumery career at Firmenich, initially working as a perfumer in São Paulo, Brazil, across fine fragrance, body care, and home care. Over more than two decades at Firmenich he has also been based in Paris, London and Princeton, creating fragrances for clients such as L’Oréal, Coty, Procter & Gamble, Rituals and Zara. His portfolio includes well-known perfumes like Oriflame Amber Elixir, Max Mara Le Parfum, Le Labo Oud 27, Grès Cabotine Gold, and HOC’s time-themed scents such as 11:00 AM (2019) and 9:00 PM (2019).
