Jack Perfume

About Jack Perfume

Jack is a small British perfume house founded in 2014 by the actor Richard E. Grant, who had wanted to make a scent since childhood in Swaziland, where at nine he tried to trap gardenia in a buried jam jar. The idea became a business after the designer Anya Hindmarch, a fellow house guest on a Caribbean holiday, asked him why he had never made one. The fragrances are composed with the perfumer Aliénor Massenet and made in Great Britain, and each 100ml bottle ships in a Union Jack calico drawstring bag with a luggage label to write on. Four scents make up the line: the original Jack in 2014, Covent Garden in 2015, Piccadilly '69 in 2016 and Richmond in 2020. Piccadilly '69 recalls Grant's first sight of London as a twelve year old in 1969, the patchouli haze around the Eros fountain crossed with Earl Grey tea and worn leather chairs at Fortnum and Mason: bergamot and ginger over cypriol, mate and a petrol note, resting on cedar, amber and leather.
