We re-pulled the live member count directly from Reddit on 6 July 2026: 123,498 subscribers.

The sub runs an approval system - new posters are asked to send modmail rather than DM or chat individual moderators, specifically so every request is visible to the whole mod team rather than just one person. The subreddit's own pinned guidance notes this queue grew heavier after related Facebook fragrance-swap groups shut down and pushed more traffic here, which is itself a signal of the sub's relative standing as a surviving swap venue.

Because real money and real bottles change hands, trust and verification matter more here than in a general discussion community, and the evidence bears that out both ways: we found an active, upvoted warning thread on r/fragrance itself flagging a user who says they were permanently banned from r/fragranceswap after pointing out a listing of 'very obviously fake' Chanel fragrances - a reminder that any peer-to-peer swap community, however well moderated, carries counterfeit and scam risk that a retailer-backed marketplace does not. Anyone using it should verify seller history, request proof photos, and use Reddit's own moderation and reporting tools rather than assuming vetting is complete once 'approved'.
