Le Parfum Simplifié

Le Parfum Simplifié is an online perfumery course built around working at the bench. It was founded by Yev, a perfumer, formulator and educator, with the Newcastle perfumer Kristan Beech as co-founder. It is aimed at beginners, hobbyists and small-brand founders who make their own perfumes and want to get better at it themselves.

Premium membership is a single £120 payment with no subscription. It opens a thirteen-module course that starts with perfumery basics, equipment and raw materials, moves through dilutions, nose training, accords and formula construction, and goes on to compounding, maceration, compliance and regulations. The last module covers starting a fragrance brand. The course page lists more than ten hours of content.

Members also get more than 100 formulas and an accord library. The course calls its method the Formula Lab: blend a formula exactly as written, smell it, change one material, compare the result, and keep going until the structure is your own. Live classes put that into practice, with sessions on building and modifying formulas, comparing materials and reviewing students' work, and every class is recorded.

Everything is delivered through a Discord server, which has passed 400 members. Members use it to share formulas, ask beginner questions and talk through material substitutions.

The same team sells standalone perfumery software for a one-off £30. It stores formulas with version history and organises a raw-material library. It also handles scaling, costs, and IFRA and allergen calculations. Premium members get a discount on it. One-to-one formula consultations are offered too, for independent perfumers working on formulas of their own.
