ELIX sells the workshop as a box. Most perfume classes are an afternoon: you turn up, blend something, take home a bottle and that is the end of it. ELIX packs the same idea into a Luxury Personal Alchemy Set at £155 - a tray of blending accords, the tools, and instructions - so the blending happens at your kitchen table and the accords are still there next month when you want to try a different combination.

The accords are the product, and they are sold separately at £40-45 for 30ml, which tells you what the company thinks it is: a set of building blocks rather than a one-off experience. We have mapped twelve of them onto the notes we hold, so you can see what each accord is actually made of before you buy.

Start at £45 if you are unsure. The Perfume Mixology Discovery Set is the cheap way to find out whether blending is something you enjoy doing, and it costs less than a single 30ml accord. The £155 sets are the commitment, and they are worth it only if the discovery set told you the answer was yes.

The workshops still run alongside the boxes - in person, on Zoom, and as private hire for hen parties, team days and weddings - so the class is there if you would rather be taught than read. Two things to know before ordering: the accords are 55-75% naturally derived, which is a deliberate choice and means citrus notes fade faster and blends keep for about twelve months; and ELIX ships within the UK only.
