Sandalore smells rich and warm, a natural sandalwood character built for tenacity more than for a distinctive edge. Plain woodiness comes before the creamy sandalwood note. A sweet, warm quality rounds it out, with a faint amber trace underneath.

Origin

Givaudan, trade name Sandalore. Perfumer's Apprentice lists it under the chemical name sandal pentanol. It is a synthetic sandalwood material with an odour in some ways similar to sandalwood.

Usage in Perfumery

Givaudan describes it as "an interesting sandalwood replacement in combination with Ebanol". The datasheet sells it on what it adds to a formula, "volume and substantivity", as much as on how it smells. Attested on 1 Fragrantica perfume and 4 Parfumo perfumes across 4 brands.
