484 chases the almond-and-tonka gourmand signature that defines Serge Lutens' cult classic Myrrhe et Tonka. The lavender opening is close enough to pass, and the tonka-vanilla-almond base captures the comforting, marzipan-like sweetness people love the original for. What's missing is the smoky, resinous myrrh backbone that gives Lutens' version its slightly bitter, incense-tinged complexity - 484 stays uniformly sweet where the original darkens and deepens over time.
