D.S. & Durga Vio Volta is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2017, created by David Seth Moltz. D.S. & Durga's Vio Volta carries an Acquired verdict, a woody-led wear.

Divisive doesn't even cut it: Vio Volta is a love-it-or-loathe-it creation. If you're after something utterly unique and challenging, this might just be your weirdly wonderful poison. Otherwise, approach with extreme caution, and definitely don't blind buy.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Fall Winter
Also Works:
Summer

Versatile across every season - no clear seasonal preference from wearers.

Best Occasions

Also Works:
Casual

With eternal longevity and moderate sillage, this scent has the potential to overwhelm in close quarters. Its highly unusual and polarising character makes it less suitable for most formal or office environments, but it could be a conversation starter in casual or niche date settings for those who dare.

About

Vio Volta kicks off with a sharp, tangy burst of rhubarb, quickly followed by an electric, almost ozone-like violet that feels anything but delicate. As it settles, a dry, mineral incense emerges, interwoven with an earthy patchouli. The base anchors the composition with a woody cedar and a synthetic, almost tar-like amberwood, creating a scent that's more industrial landscape than floral garden.
