Babe Spirit Body Mist

Babe Spirit is the aquatic entry in Missguided's Babe line, and the 220ml body mist is the format the range was really designed for. Missguided files it as a marine fruity floral and publishes the full pyramid, which is more than most brands at this price bother to do. The top is a burst of freesia, melon and lychee water softened with candyfloss, and it is exactly as it sounds: juicy, sugary, a little synthetic, and immediately recognisable as a summer scent. The heart is a generic floral bouquet infused with a cool watery note, and the brand does not name individual flowers, which is honest enough given what a fragrance costs to make at this price. The base is where it gets slightly more interesting: white musk carries most of it, with driftwood and cedar adding a dry, salty-woody edge that keeps the sweetness from being one-dimensional, and spun sugar reinstating it at the very end. Body mists are formulated weak by design, so expect an hour of clear scent and very little after that. The volume is the compensation. At 220ml for ten pounds it is meant to be sprayed generously and reapplied, and that is a perfectly reasonable way to smell good in spring and summer without thinking about it.
