Abdullah Mushtaque Ahmed Anfar is a third-generation member of the Anfar perfume family and serves as Managing Director of Oudh Al Anfar Perfumes, the Dubai-headquartered house founded in 1950 by his grandparents Haji Anfar Ali and Samsun Nehar Anfar Ali. The son of Anfar's current chairman Mostaque (Mushtaque) Anfar Ali, he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the American University in Dubai and grew up inside the family's agarwood and Dehn al Oudh trade as it expanded from Assam into the GCC and, more recently, into the UK. As the lead nose credited on the Anfar London line, Abdullah is the most prolific perfumer in the family stable, composing the bulk of the house's modern Oriental-French portfolio. His credited work spans the Anfar London range, including Amber d'Orient, Oud d'Orient, Musc d'Orient, Rose Musk, Midnight Homme Intense, Azure Spirit, Date Nights, Floral Bloom, Platinum Shade, The Jewel of Desert and The Masterpiece, reflecting a stylistic span from warm Arabian oriental signatures (oud, amber, musk, rose) to cleaner contemporary structures aimed at international markets. The Anfar London house describes its work as a deliberate blend of Arabic perfumery traditions with modern Western sensibilities, and Abdullah's compositions embody that brief: family-trained in raw oud materials, working in the modern atomiser format.
